Member Workshop: Reflective Yarn

Our Maker in Residence, Lorna Hamilton-Brown, will be leading this workshop, which uses reflective yarn and finger knitting to illustrate the processes used by knitting machines.

Maker in Residence – Lorna Hamilton Brown

For a whole week artist Lorna Hamilton Brown “The Banksy of Knitting” will be knitting a narrative textile about the Institute of Making in the Makespace, using her beloved collection of vintage as well as electronic knitting machines.

Member Masterclass: Glazing Ceramics
Wednesday 19 July 2017 10:00am - 12:30pm
This hands-on Masterclass, led by our technician and acclaimed potter Darren Ellis, will show you how to mix glazes, how to use different application techniques and how to tidy a piece once glazed. At the start of the workshop Darren will introduce you to common glaze ingredients alongside their function.
