Member Masterclass: Pâte de Verre
Discover the historic glassmaking technique of pâte de verre (paste of glass) with award winning glass artist Joshua Kerley in this hands-on member masterclass.
Explore how fine, sugar-like grains of glass can be transformed into tactile vessel forms through low-temperature kiln firing, and play with colour and material through combining traditional glassmaking processes with digital fabrication, creating unique, granular outcomes.
Joshua Kerley is an award-winning artist, designer and educator specialising in kiln-glass. He holds a BA in Contemporary Crafts from Falmouth University and an MA in Ceramics & Glass from the Royal College of Art, London, and his work has featured in international exhibitions, including the British Glass Biennale 2026, and publications Crafts Magazine and Neues Glas. He was a Senior Lecturer and Acting Programme Director at the University for the Creative Arts (2019–2026), and continues to teach internationally while working from his studio in rural Wiltshire, UK.
From Monday 16th November to Wednesday 25th November, Joshua will work in our Stratford workshop as our Maker in Residence. Find out more about his residency here.
