Joshua Kerley

This autumn, glass artist Joshua Kerley will join us for a two week residency in our Stratford workshop.

During this time, Joshua will be firing up our fuse kiln, experimenting with new glass forms and sharing his extensive expertise with foam glass and the ancient kiln-casting technique of pâte de verre

Joshua is known for pushing the aesthetics of glass, allowing the material to imitate and adopt other structural qualities whilst taking inspiration from semi-precious stones, metals and ceramics. Through playing with perception and using combination of traditional and experimental kiln-glass techniques, Joshua's work goes beyond the conventional associations of glass, allowing the material itself to guide his pieces physical qualities.

Joshua Kerley is an award-winning artist, designer and educator specialising in kiln-glass. He holds a BA in Contemporary Crafts from Falmouth University and an MA in Ceramics & Glass from the Royal College of Art, London, and his work has featured in international exhibitions, including the British Glass Biennale 2026, and publications Crafts Magazine and Neues Glas. He was a Senior Lecturer and Acting Programme Director at the University for the Creative Arts (2019–2026), and continues to teach internationally while working from his studio in rural Wiltshire, UK.
