Join green woodworker Geoffrey Fisher to make a whistle from a fresh maple branch, which Geoff has gathered from Mop End Woods in Buckinghamshire. Geoff has permission to use any wood that has already been cut by the landowner to maintain pathways, etc.

Geoff is a green woodworker, which mean the wood he uses is fresh and full of sap, unlike most other timber which has been dried over a long period of time to make it stable. He lives in High Wycombe, surrounded by woodlands. He uses a range of traditional cabinet making techniques to transform twigs and branches into characterful, handcrafted objects for the home. His collection ranges from hooks, tabletop dustpan and brushes, skipping ropes, whistles and slingshots.

Our events coordinator visited Geoff at his studio recently, read her blog post here.
