Festival of Stuff

Tuesday 04 July 17 - Saturday 08 July 17

The Festival of Stuff runs yearly in June or July and consists of a week of bookable masterclasses and an enormous public street festival celebration of materials and making.

Previously masterclasses have included basket weaving, metal and plastic tape plating, paper cord weaving, shaker box making, pyrotechnic display, glass whistle making and much more. The festival culminates in a dazzling Saturday Extravaganza of making stalls and materials demos, taking over the whole street outside of the Institute of Making. The day revisits some of our favourite activities from the year and some new discoveries, including cyanotype printing, sugru throwing, yellow road making painting, teeth cleaning, copper bowl hammering and copper spoon making, to name a few.

The full schedule is published in May, to be the first to hear sign up to our mailing list join here

All are welcome. Booking is required for masterclasees, there is no need to book for the Saturday Extravaganza which is drop-in sessions from 1-5pm.
