Enter ballot here from 13-18 May
Discover the world of embriodery, in all of its historic and futuristic glory, as you create your own touch-responsive textile sensor with conductive thread. Join textile artist and researcher Toni Buckby to learn all about traditional stitching and authentic prick-and-pounce pattern transfer, then see your creation come to life and light up! No prior experience in sewing or electronics required.
Toni Buckby is a creative artist who explores the intersection of textile techniques and digital technologies; challenging traditional notions of skilled labour through innovative e-textiles and collective making. Toni is currently pursuing a PhD at Sheffield Hallam University and the V&A Museum. Her work researches how digital technologies can interpret and preserve fragile Elizabethan embroideries, making them more accessible to a wider audience.
