About the job...

The Workshop Technician is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, administration and health and safety of our workshops and is the first point of contact for people using our space.

The post-holder should have excellent people skills and be prepared to encourage and guide users with a wide range of competencies and maturity, from beginners to experts, from children to adults. They should be approachable, engage with staff and students in discussion, work with sketches and preliminary drawings, be able to advise users on modifications, alternatives, and further developments of their ideas, and provide expertise in a wide range of making techniques.

The post-holder will also be required to organise and carry out regular inspections, undertake and record the maintenance of the equipment, and liaise with suppliers when repairs are required.
