Wearable Exoskeleton Project

The Institute of Making is involved in an EPSRC-funded project, led by Professor Nick Tyler, which aims to develop a wearable exoskeleton to help people who are experiencing difficulties in walking.

This novel material would be alternatively rigid and strong for support, and flexible when joints need to be bent, acting like a muscle to support the wearer throughout the whole walking cycle.
