Head of Materials Library
Sarah is a huge fan of all things material: from the science of materials and their power to inform and affect human behaviour, to their many weird and wonderful uses in healthcare, consumer, automotive and architectural applications. She is a social scientist by training, with a background in material culture, multidisciplinary materials research and object-centred learning. Before becoming our Head of Materials Library, Sarah was our Research Manager and led on a wide variety of collaborative, interdisciplinary research projects including the Making Spaces project, her Wellcome Trust Fellowship project Material Anxieties and Hands of X (EPSRC). Sarah has a PhD in Anthropology from UCL, completed with industrial partners the IOM3, an MA in Material Culture from UCL, and a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Oxford.
