This is an in-person tour and training session to introduce the tools, processes and possibilities of the space, covering essential safety and hygiene practices. This is a YELLOW training and is required to be able to use the Experimental Kitchen.

What to expect

We will discuss and demonstrate food hygiene and safety practices including:

  • Preparing yourself for working in the kitchen
  • Food safety hazards and the systems we must for managing them
  • Safe use of kitchen machines and sharp tools
  • Logging and labelling systems for food brought in, stored or taken away
  • Methods for cleaning surfaces, equipment and kitchen textiles.

When you are signed off after attending this area training, you will be able to book ongoing project sessions with a kitchen technician.
