This is a 4-hour integrated training for 3D tool paths and CNC Machining.

The first part will be focused on creating a basic set up and toolpaths using QuickCAM Pro and Fusion 360. The second part will be using the Denford 2600 Pro CNC machine. To operate the machine, you will learn to use a software called VR Milling 6 to set up, configure and run your own CNC operation.

What to expect

You will learn how to import your 3D file into the software, explore basic roughing and finishing strategies, use the tool library, update tools and simulate and post-process toolpaths. This training covers both the use of the CNC software and machine, as well as the related health and safety guidelines and good housekeeping practices for the CNC room.

Once you've completed the training, your Member profile will be updated and you'll gain access to the CNC room during its opening hours. To machine your own project, you will first need to complete a CNC checklist.

Note: This is not an in-depth Fusion 360 training. Independent learning is encouraged, and links to further online resources will be provided.
