Members Challenge: The Great Egg Race
Wednesday 10 December 2014 10:00am - 12:00am
The challenge is to build a moving robot that can pick up an egg and travel a short distance before putting it down in a nest, without smashing it! Your robot will need to travel over a variety of different terrains/surfaces, straddle a post, go under a limbo pole, negotiate a sideways slope and navigate through a slalom to finally deliver the fresh, un-smashed egg, into its/ nest.

This November, in partnership with the Crafts Council, the V&A and the RSA, we will be staging a London-wide extravaganza of materials and making, called Make:Shift:Do. As part of this, we will be hosting a public open day around the theme of Carbon and a selection of specialist masterclasses. This will be our lsat open day of 2014, so get it in your diaries now!

The evening will include an introduction by Creative Director & Curator of Materials Zoe Laughlin, opportunities for hands-on engagement with the collection, material consultancy and, most excitingly, the launch of the Materials Library App.
