Airbus’ Filton, location focuses on design, engineering and support for Airbus wings, fuel systems and landing gear integration, with additional teams working on systems, structures and aerodynamics projects.
Airbus in the UK is a world leader in wing design, engineering and manufacturing and is a key centre for the testing and integration of fuel systems and landing gear. Core activities at Filton include the design, engineering and support for Airbus wings, fuel systems and landing gear integration. Teams also work on systems, structures, and aerodynamics research, development and test facilities. There are more than 2,000 engineers at Filton involved in a range of areas, including wing integration, flight physics, structures and systems.
Join us for a tour of Airbus UK Proto-space facility which will included the ALM (Additive Layer Manufacturing), 3-D Proto-typing & associated Airbus innovation projects. We will also see Airbus Structures UK Test Centre, which includes the live aircraft component structural mechanical tests that they have ongoing with Airbus series & development programmes. Specific activities include: Thermal Stress Analysis (TSA) and Photo-elastic analysis/investigation with airframe parts.
This tour will cost £30 per person, this will pay for your transport to and from the site in Bristol. We will be leaving prompt at 7:30am and returning late that evening.
