Festival of Stuff: Saturday Extravaganza

Festival of Stuff: Saturday Extravaganza

Saturday 25 June 2022 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Free, no booking required

Location: Institute of Making, Malet Place, UCL, London, WC1E 7JE. Map.

The Festival of Stuff finale is finally back and bursting with delectable making madness as we once again fill the street outside the Institute of Making with demonstrations and making stations.

Come along to celebrate processes and materials, including botanical bodging, sublimination, light polarising filters, and ink making from oak galls and batteries.

Carving techniques get a special showcase at this year's extravaganza, with a whole section of making activities dedicated to different types of cuts, tools, and materials for groovy results. Greenwood carvers, soap specialists, ice experts and more will provide demonstrations and teaching. We take a closer look at how the world of plants intersects with making, through henna, fermentation and a ‘plant repair’ activity.

Alternatively explore the strange beast that is the Institute of Making shop and marvel at the Materials Library inside the Makespace. All this and much more will be at our Saturday Extravaganza for exploring, creating and turning on its head.

The majority of the festival is wheelchair accessible, if you have any access questions email events@instituteofmaking.org.uk.

Free, open to all, drop in from 1pm, gates close at 5pm.

More details are to be released mid-May. Save the date!
