Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish
The world is getting more complex except in one respect, we still throw most of our waste in the ground. Is this our future, or will we develop new materials that are ultra strong and never need replacing. Or will we learn from nature and produce living buildings, and objects that heal-themselves. This talk discusses these possible futures, and includes special feature on the Scrap Club, a group of people who use sledgehammers, crowbars, bats and pipes to destroy various household objects. Is this hobby just about anger management, or is it an ingenious way to discover the amazing new properties of materials?
