Members event, drop in, doors open at 5.45pm

Our new informal research event series for members. Each evening will feature a UCL Researcher and how they navigate the Makespace to develop their academic work. This month features Laura Adlington, PhD candidate in Archaeology who will talk about 3D printing for the study of medieval stained glass.

Laura says; "Chemical analysis of archaeological materials can tell us a lot about ancient technology and craftsmen. However, the analytical equipment we use in archaeology is rarely designed with archaeologists in mind. I will be sharing how I used the Makespace to design and 3D print an attachment for a handheld XRF spectrometer to adapt it for quantitative analysis of medieval stained glass windows, and I will briefly share results of some case studies.”
