Jim Steele is only one of six craftsmen who builds Windsor chairs using age-old traditional techniques, and has been doing so for nearly 20 years, using British elm, ash and yew. Over the course of five days Jim will turn the rough components into a double bow back Windsor chair in the MakeSpace, using his refined technique and specialist hand tools. He will be on hand to answer questions about furniture making and working with wood.

Monday 30th Sep 10:00-11:00 - Jim will be giving a brief introduction into double bow back Windsor chair and his craftmanship. 
Tuesday 1st Oct 10:00 - 10:30 - Brief introduction for the day.
Wednesday 2nd Oct 10:00 - 10:30 - Brief introduction for the day.
Friday 4th Oct 10:00 - 10:30 - Brief introduction for the day.
Friday 4th Oct 16:00 - 17:00 - The Grand Reveal, take a look at the completed double bow back Windsor chair.
