Festival of Stuff: Open day
Come along on Saturday 27th June for our second extravaganza of Stuff!! This five day festival will culminate in a public event on a grand scale. We will be taking over the whole street outside of the Institute of Making for our finale, filling it with demo-stalls and making stations, bringing back this year’s favourite activities and some new discoveries.

Join Ann Nazareth to weave a decorative water scoop with paper cord using a simple basketry technique called twining. Once you’ve mastered the basic skills of paper cord weaving you will be able to develop your own ideas for 3-dimensional weaving in ways that will delight and surprise.

Join Stella Harding to weave an open hexagonal shape with tape measures. Stella makes three-dimensional woven structures in a wide variety of materials using techniques derived from traditional basketry.
